LOXAHATCHEE, FL – Today, Elizabeth Accomando announced her campaign for Palm Beach County Commission District 6. Accomando currently serves as President of the Indian Trail Improvement District (ITID) and was elected to the ITID Board in 2022. She is also the Founder and Executive Director of the Barky Pines Animal Rescue & Sanctuary in Loxahatchee, FL. The Republican primary election will take place on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
"I’m running for County Commission because I’m ready to serve our community in a greater capacity and because I believe I can do a better job representing the people of District 6," Accomando said. "My decades of experience as a small business owner, land manager, animal rescuer, people helper, and more recently as an elected official in this area, has uniquely prepared me for this critical role.
"After I filed, I called the Commissioner to personally tell her that I was running, that I intend to run a clean and positive race, and I asked her to do the same," stated Accomando.
"Frankly, I’m concerned about the direction of the county commission with our current elected representative. In my opinion, the western communities have been underserved the last few years, particularly in the Glades and unincorporated areas of District 6. I can’t stand on the sidelines and let another four years go by, so for me and for many people I’ve talked with over the last few months, now is the time for new leadership," Accomando said.
